Find the job that sounds like yours.

Each one is work Jeffery does himself, with his truck. The short list under a job is what he needs in order to give you a straight price.

Photos show the kind of work.

Junk hauling

The pile does not have to stay in the driveway.

Household junk, debris after a project, a mattress, broken furniture. Jeffery loads it into his truck and hauls it off. You do not need your own trailer, and you do not need to stand in the bed stacking it.

What to tell him

  • Roughly how much there is, or what the biggest pieces are
  • Whether it is already outside or up a flight of stairs
  • Anything mixed in that you want kept

Lawn care

Grass that got past a quick evening mow.

He cuts the lawn. Say how long it has been, because a yard that has gone to seed is a different job than a weekly cut.

What to tell him

  • Front, back, or both
  • A gate, a steep slope, or a dog that needs to be inside
  • Anything you do not want run over

Clean-outs

A room you want to walk into again.

Garages, yards, attics, and basements. The visit is for getting the space usable. He asks what stays and what goes before anything leaves.

What to tell him

  • Which room, and whether you can open the door all the way
  • What must be kept
  • How close the truck can park

Wood chopping

Wood that is already down.

Splitting and cutting firewood, limbs, and piles that are on the ground. His truck is there if the wood needs to leave. A tree that is still standing, or a limb hung up in another tree, is a different kind of work. Say so, and he will tell you if it is outside what he does.

What to tell him

  • About how big the pile is
  • Whether the wood stays stacked or needs to be hauled
  • If any of it is against the house or a fence

Furniture moving & delivery

From the doorway to the room it belongs in.

Moving pieces inside a house, out to the curb, or from a store to your place. He carries it and sets it down where you point. Delivery is the same idea: he meets the piece and finishes the heavy part.

What to tell him

  • What the piece is, and how many flights
  • Pickup and drop-off, if they are different places
  • A tight turn, a small elevator, or a door that is already a close fit

Demolition by hand

Tear-out by hand, then hauled away.

Shed panels, old decking, a closet, or similar work he can take apart by hand and load. He does not bring an excavator. If the work is next to wiring, gas, or plumbing, say that first so he can tell you whether a licensed trade needs that part.

What to tell him

  • What you want gone, and what has to stay standing
  • Anything live: electric, water, or gas
  • Where debris can sit until it is on the truck

Heavy or light lifting

An extra pair of arms, with a truck if you need one.

Loading a rental truck, moving an appliance, or working down a list that is half heavy and half small. Mixed days are usually hourly, because the time is the job. He still tells you the rate before he starts.

What to tell him

  • What has to be lifted, and where it is going
  • Whether a truck is already there, or he should bring his
  • How long you think it will take, even if it is a guess
